I spoke with a very nice associate when I checked out, and she explained that there was construction on the 24th floor, though it wasn’t supposed to start until 10 a.m. I understand the need for repairs, but the hotel wasn’t very busy. If the work was already known, I could have been put on another floor. I’d asked at check-in for a quiet room because I mainly wanted a good night’s sleep. My room on the 23rd floor was nice and had a wonderful view, but around 7 or 7:30 a.m. I heard quite a bit of noise from above. I first thought it was other guests, then realized some kind of repair or construction was going on. I was woken much earlier than I wanted. Otherwise, it was a nice stay: the room was comfortable and the staff I met were pleasant. I just wish I’d slept better in the morning.

I didn’t leave the hotel during this great stay. I was there to relax, and spent time enjoying the food, spa, and quiet. I stayed at The Fox Tower twice in 2025, and had stayed there before as well. On my latest visit, the regular room on the 19th floor was very quiet and extremely clean, and I found it more comfortable than the corner room I’d had earlier in the year. I wasn’t there to gamble. The first night I ate at Alta Strada, where the penne à la vodka was great. The next day I spent a few hours at the spa and had an 80-minute signature massage. I’ve been before, and it’s always calm and professional. That evening at Hell’s Kitchen, I chose the prix fixe: beet salad, beef Wellington, and sticky toffee pudding. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the staff were really good. I also had lunch at Sugar Factory on both days. Their weekday brunch deal included an omelette, which I ordered each time. Solid food and a nice place to sit. I definitely plan to return.

The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the view from our room on the 27th floor was great. The only real issue was the elevators. We waited nearly 20 minutes to go down, and every one that arrived was packed. It looked like only three of the six were running. A couple already waiting said they’d been there half an hour. We finally took the stairs all the way down. Quite a workout, but worth it. Keep that in mind if they ask whether you want a high or low room.

The casinos felt dated, with many machines out of order, and the payout rate seemed among the worst around. Restaurant choices weren’t bad, though some were difficult to reserve. Getting around was a pain because the property is huge and spread out. We sometimes walked 30 minutes to another area only to find it wasn’t worth the trip. We went for a quick weekend away and got badly caught out by an “upgrade.” I booked a suite for about $600 for the weekend. At check-in I asked about upgrades, and was told one was available at a discount from what I’d already paid. My girlfriend and I asked again if it would cost less than our original booking, and they confirmed it would. At checkout, though, we were charged another $1,200 for the room. We paid nearly $2,000 to sleep in a single-bed room for two nights. Foxwoods reduced the charge by $300 after we disputed it. At Encore in Boston, I could stay in a much nicer room for a week at that price and have a far better casino. The “upgraded” suite was oddly designed, dim, and stained throughout. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly, with tape and bits of decorations still hanging from the ceiling. The pool table was great, but the decor was strange, with Bubly sponsorship covering half the room and LGBTQ pride decorations covering the other half. Even at the price I was originally quoted, I would have been disappointed. At nearly $1,000 a day before the already high cost of food and drinks, it felt like I’d been robbed. We won’t return.

I’ve gone there every year for almost 20 years, and our company also holds events there, booking around 1,000 rooms for the week. I’m sharing what happened on my recent stay because I feel we were hustled. Please be careful, this doesn’t seem like an ethical operation. Recent reviews also describe smoking fee scams, and it sounds like others may have run into the same thing. They said the smoking sensors went off while we weren’t even in the room. There was no appeal or way to dispute it, and they were extremely rude to us. I’d heard of smoking fees at checkout, but never a demand like this: pay $1,050 immediately or be escorted out and kicked out of our annual event. Even the security guard apologized and said it was a new policy. I’m told others in our group were targeted too. This feels like a charge they can put on anyone without giving them a chance to contest it. They also tried to embarrass us at a company event. I’ve never experienced such blatant disrespect, discrimination, or poor service. I want the hotel or casino to make this right. Let this be a warning: beware of Foxwoods fake room sensors, unauthorized charges, and extortion tactics.
