Howard Johnson by Wyndham Lemoore

I checked in Saturday evening and left Sunday morning, but when I called Monday about a refund, the manager was rude and challenged me about waiting to report the problem, saying he’d been there all weekend. I hadn’t seen him during my stay. He said the sewer smell came from outside and wasn’t something he could control, even though I could smell feces coming through the room vents. Then he said he couldn’t refund me because I booked through Expedia. I felt he had no intention of helping. From check-in, he’d seemed suspicious of me and unwelcoming. The only staff member I found pleasant and professional was a younger gentleman working later that evening. The smell was overwhelming throughout the place, and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. They didn’t offer breakfast or even basic shower hygiene products. The photos don’t match what I experienced. Guests deserve cleanliness, comfort, and respect, and I got none of that. Management like this shouldn’t be in hospitality. I’ll never return.
