Don't take room 119 if you stay here. Dust and bottle caps were under the beds, and the bathroom tub was filthy. The window blind didn't block the parking lot lights, so we had to hang a drop cloth over the window. The entry door from check-in slammed shut with a bang that shook the wall behind the beds. It happened at all hours of the day and night. The room wasn't clean.

We appreciated that smoking is only allowed outside the building. I'm not a smoker, and neither is anyone in my family, so smoke inside would've been a problem. The hotel seemed recently remodeled and was in pristine condition, and we had a comfortable night. There isn't a kitchen for breakfast like some hotels have, which makes this place cheaper. The appliances in our room were dated and noisy when running. The stove needs updating and a little remodeling. Everything else was very good, and the view was great. We travel a lot, and despite the situation, we decided to spend a night here. Thanks for having us, and best wishes for the business!

I checked in, looked at the room, and checked right back out. The whole place was disgusting and nothing like the photos online, with a strong smell of smoke throughout a hotel that's supposed to be non-smoking. They refused to refund me even though I didn't stay the night. Worst hotel experience I've had. Don't book here.

The staff regularly go well beyond what I'd expect from an inexpensive hotel. Gavin(Hotel’s GM), Delaney(Hotel’s AGM), and the on-site maintenance go-to “Ty” are considerate and welcoming. The cleaning staff care about the condition of the rooms and are always pleasantly kind. Security seems fairly strong: there are multiple cameras along each hallway, and you can't get into the hotel without a key unless a resident holds the door for you. For the money, long-term residents seem to get more care and value here than at other extended-stay hotels. This is an extended-stay apartment hotel, and the rates can make The WoodSpring in Lenexa worth the money. Management says rates will be grandfathered, and renovation is required before ‘27. The building has been around for decades, so it has drawbacks. Make sure your room has a working water closet exhaust fan, since the nonworking ones have mold. If you're allergic to black mold, they'll move you to another room if you ask.
