Hampton Inn Lewisburg

Half the hotel, the pool, the exercise room, and other spaces were closed for construction, and the work went on through the weekend. The noise was nearly constant, so we had to leave the building during the day. We hadn't been told about the renovations when we booked, and since the reservation was nonrefundable, we stayed. Big mistake. The staff had to put up with it too, which I felt bad about. It was okay as a place to sleep, but not at full price. With temperatures in the single digits, I might otherwise have slept in my car.

After a long, traffic-filled drive, we arrived in the middle of the night exhausted and eager to get to bed. Tina Fox, I believe the night Manager, greeted us warmly and kindly, then got us settled right away. Our room had already been cooled and was ready for us. It was decent and clean, though the bed could have been better. The hot breakfast was tasty and looked fresh, unlike some I've had elsewhere. The customer service really set this hotel apart from another one I used in the area before. I'd definitely stay again when I'm nearby and need a place.

The room would have earned five stars, but my asthma suddenly flared up, so I checked the AC filters. They were almost black and had what looked like mold on them. I washed them four times until they were clear, and my breathing trouble went away. Aside from that, we LOVED this HOTEL! The housekeeping and front desk staff were wonderful. We'll be back!

A really good stopover, with well-lit parking and dinner options nearby, either within walking distance or a short drive. The pool was very nice, and the property is well cared for. We'll stay here again next time we're in the area.
