The room's historic character and the warm, polished service made dinner at the General Lewis Inn feel special. We started with drinks at the bar: the rum-based "Moby Dick" was a refreshing tropical mix, and the Cosmopolitan was as dependable as ever. The Crab Hush Puppies, made with local cornmeal and lump crab, were great with the caper rémoulade, and the dinner salad was crisp and fresh. My steak was hand-cut Certified Angus, tender and juicy, with lovely seasoning and a perfect grill. Save room for dessert: the crème brûlée and silky Louisiana Cadillac Mousse were both heavenly. The atmosphere is charming, and the service was top-tier. A must-visit in Lewisburg!

The staff were exceptionally kind and polite, and the antiques throughout the building give you little glimpses into the past. This historic place is right downtown, within a short walk of restaurants and other options. The tradeoff is that the bedrooms and bathrooms are extremely small, and the walls are so thin you hear people throughout the building. We couldn't get a table in the restaurant, so book well ahead if you plan to eat there. It was a cool experience, but I wouldn't want to stay more than two days. It's a 100-year-old building meant to preserve the past, so keep that in mind.

The room was quiet and comfortable, a great base for another of our many trips to Lewisburg. Our family connection here goes back five generations, though this was our first time at the General Lewis. From the moment we entered the lobby, the staff gave us impeccable service throughout the stay. We spent time in the bar before dinner, and the bartender was a delight to chat with. Dinner was wonderful, with high-quality ingredients, excellent preparation and presentation, and a server who was a gem both in service and conversation. Thanks for a lovely weekend.

We came for a wedding this past weekend, and the General Lewis Inn was just about the cutest, hippest historic inn we could have picked. The owner is very hands-on and clearly cares a lot. I'd highly recommend visiting if you're headed to Lewisburg.

We stayed in the McCloud Suite at this lovely, cozy historic hotel. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the large walk-in shower is handicapped accessible. Joe at the front desk was awesome and especially helpful.
