Aloft by Marriott Lexington

The indoor pool is amazing, the gym is solid, and I really liked spending time in the lobby during the snowstorm. The staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating. The place has great energy, good amenities, and a bit of that old college dorm vibe I liked. I did wish the windows had blinds that let in daylight while still giving privacy. I felt stuck choosing between natural light and not feeling like I was in a fishbowl. It was also odd not to have a microwave in the room, and I didn't enjoy having to walk to the lobby and line up to heat food.

The staff were courteous, and the location just off I-95 is convenient. Locally people still call it Route 128, the name it had 50 years ago. The hotel feels extremely minimalist, with very few pieces of inexpensive furniture. That park bench in the photo, or 'couch', isn't really something you'd want to relax on. It was very clean, though that's easier with so few hard surfaces. Feels like the CFO designed the place.

Dev and Ashley were so kind and helpful when the third-party booking system failed. They did what they could to accommodate us through the mess. Aloft is lucky to have them representing the team. Thanks, Dev and Ashley!

I paid a rate that included breakfast, and at check-in they told me breakfast would be complimentary the next morning. When I went down, there was nothing available. They said the kitchen was down and sent me across the street to another hotel if I wanted breakfast. Dishonesty isn't tolerable.
