Country Inn & Suites Lexington

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the property and rooms need maintenance. Rates were outrageously high because CMA was happening downtown in Nashville, nowhere near this location. They charged twice the usual price.

Check-in is quick and easy, and the rooms are usually quiet. I’ve stayed here many times. I skipped breakfast this visit, though they normally have plenty of hot food and carbs to choose from. There are good shopping spots and nearby places to eat, and UKY is only a short drive away.

The room was clean and nice, the bed was serviceable, and the shower actually gets hot, which I care about. Luckily, the wall thermostat still worked, since the motion-sensor units hotels use to take away temperature control hadn’t been hooked up yet. Street noise is the downside. It sounded like people were drag racing up and down 65 all night, and by morning the noise in the room was deafening. If you stay, ask for a room at the back of the building and hope for the best.

The room was an inexpensive, decent deal, but the hotel needs better upkeep. The hallway carpet is old and stained, with a couple spots that look like bleach spills. Our door latch was odd, and we had to shoulder the door to open and close it. I was surprised the windows opened, but one frame was falling apart and its screen was down on the roof of the portico outside. Neither window locked. That could be a concern if someone could climb onto the portico or come through from another room.
