Extended Stay America - Lexington - Nicholasville

I booked through Agoda for 11/27-11/28 at Extended Stay American Suites- Lexington while visiting a loved one at the nearby cancer center. Check-in was quick, the front desk clerk was friendly, and having a kitchenette with a full fridge was a nice touch. But the room was worn and in bad shape. The microwave was dirty, dirt and dead bugs had been swept into the corners, the bedding was stained, and there was hair on the toilet. I was willing to let some of that go because of the price, but then the heater only blew cold air even though it was 31 degrees outside. Worse, cockroaches came out of the clock on the nightstand by the bed. I checked out after just a couple of hours. Staff apologized, but offered neither a refund nor a room change. They were friendly, but the cleanliness and maintenance were unacceptable. I can't recommend the hotel based on this experience.

I spent about two months at the Extended Stay America in Lexington, KY, and it was a genuinely pleasant stay. The room was cozy, generally clean, and kept in good condition. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, which mattered a lot over a longer visit. Laundry was easy to use, and I appreciated having complimentary coffee and cereal bars each morning. A few of the machines were small and dated, but they still did the job. For a competitive price, you get a comfortable, clean room and a reliable place to stay. I'd definitely consider coming back.

The staff were quick and attentive, but the room was a letdown. The so-called flat screen TVs were old LG models, more than ten years old and not smart TVs. The cabinets were falling apart and didn't line up, and the fridge was covered in rust spots. When I was quoted $98.99 to extend my stay, I pointed out the room's problems. The woman at the front desk politely lowered the total to $89.99.

Our room is very clean, the bed is comfortable, and everything seems to be working properly. Richard at the hotel front desk did an outstanding job helping with our accommodations and requests. Thanks, Richard, for going above and beyond with guest service. With attentive workers like this, our five-night stay should be nice and comfortable.
