Hyatt Place Lexington

We had restaurant leftovers and couldn't warm them up because there was no microwave in the room. When we mentioned it at the desk, they said it was a corporate decision. I've never stayed somewhere without a microwave before, not even at Motel 6, and that place was six hours away. LOL. Otherwise, it was very nice.

On a cold fall night, my room felt stuffy and smelled old, and there was no hot water when I went to shower. I asked to move rooms. They switched me without checking the other room first, and the tub there had brown stains. I ended up leaving, out the money, since the hotel wouldn't approve my Priceline refund request. I went to Tru By Hilton down the street, which was MUCH better. I really don't recommend this hotel.

We'd stayed here several times with our dogs on the way to NC, but the service and cleanliness have definitely gotten worse. My husband booked two rooms well ahead, then saw only one confirmation email and thought there was just one room, so he booked another. At check-in, an employee said we had three rooms, which we didn't need, and said she'd refund one. When the charge appeared on my card the next week, we called and emailed. Eventually the hotel manager, who “is very busy,” replied that it was non-refundable. Great customer service.. The rooms aren't nearly as clean as they used to be either. They raised the pet fee to $100, saying they “deep clean,” but I can assure you our room hadn't been deep cleaned since the hotel opened. There was a big urine stain by the door and something sticky on the carpet that my dog tried to eat. I told the same employee, and she said she'd tell management. Basically, “I don't care.” On the way back, we stayed across the street at the Holiday Inn. It was SO much nicer and cleaner.

We mainly stayed here for the pool, but the heat in the pool room was out, so check before you go. The breakfast was great!
