La Quinta Inn Lexington/Horse Park

The room was spacious and came with a microwave, screen TV, fridge, ironing board, hair dryer and the usual bathroom amenities. The price was very reasonable for the quality. The hotel is wheelchair accessible and a short drive from I-75. Cracker Barrel and McDonald’s are nearby.

This place was deplorable. The whole building reeked of weed, and several rooms had loud parties going. At 11 pm, old pots and pans from breakfast were still sitting on a table in the dining area. The girl at the front seemed clueless, and the room was filthy. There was blood smeared on the wall beside my bed, toothpaste on the bathroom counters, puke stuck to the nightstand, black fingerprints by the bathroom door handle and a blood stain on my comforter. The hotel felt like a health hazard. I'll be contacting corporate. The parking lot was badly broken up, too.

From check-in to check-out, the staff were great. Trent, I think that was his name, was especially good at check-in. The hotel and lobby had updated contemporary furniture and were extremely clean. The room and bed were comfortable, and it was pet-friendly for a low $25 fee. Check-out was easy, and the warm breakfast buffet was a nice touch. We'll stay here every year on our way back from Florida.

The evening staff were kind and helped us check in, but our room was in very poor shape, with big sections of flooring missing and a really dirty bathroom. Around 4:30 am it got very noisy, and my husband's dog was so anxious that she had an accident on the bed. I rushed to the front desk, worried about the smell and stain. The overnight staff couldn't get to laundry and said they'd handle it later. They didn't offer a large bag for the bedding or to take it to housekeeping, and showed no sympathy while I was having a panic attack about the accident. I guess leaving her laptop and snacks was too much trouble.
