Residence Inn Lexington Keeneland/Airport

The rest of the staff were amazing and very friendly, and the hotel itself was nice. One middle-aged man at the front desk was a different story. My partner and I were extremely friendly, but had a small booking mishap. From the start, he treated us like children and was very disrespectful. A minor issue turned into him saying, “I do not care to cancel your booking,” while we continued to be respectful. We both work in service, so the interaction was shocking. The next day we saw him again to check out and wished him a nice day. He scoffed as we left.

It's a bit dated, but there's plenty of floor space and a full-size fridge and stove. The service was great, breakfast had a hot selection and variety, and the pool and spa were good. Most amenities you'd want are here for an overnight or longer stay.

The running loop around the hotel is awesome. I ran farther than I ever have before, which was great. I was only there for 10 hours on a recent work trip, so I couldn't make full use of the room, but I got an upgrade to two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was great, despite some minor cosmetic issues and the property feeling kind of old. The front desk was helpful and had no problem keeping my bag during the day.

The breakfast had great choices, including oatmeal with good toppings, different egg options, hot meats, and great coffee. Checkout was smooth, and manager Rachelle was very kind. She could tell I was still having a bad day and seemed to know I needed a hug. 😂 Jeremy was a godsend at check-in after a very challenging travel day and went above and beyond to make things feel smooth and relaxing. This isn't the newest, shiniest Marriott property, but the staff make it shine. The room was on the small side, with older decor, but very clean and quiet even next to the elevator. The shower head was amazing and there was plenty of hot water. The pool is being renovated, but guests can use the pool and hot tub at the Courtyard next door, a nice option although I didn't use them. This is now my first choice when I'm in Lexington.
