TownePlace Suites by Marriott Lexington South/Hamburg Place

I don’t know if management changed, but this place has gotten awful. The front desk staff are extremely rude. They lock themselves in the back room and act put out when you need anything. The phone line from the room doesn’t work, so you have to walk to the desk, and most of the time they’re shut away back there. They’re out of everything. Garbage was overflowing, there was no coffee and no hot water for cocoa, and I didn’t see housekeeping during my visit. This place used to be clean and the front desk people friendly. Now it’s dirty and there’s no attention to detail or standard for cleaning rooms. There was visible pubic hair in the bathtub. The hotel is going downhill fast, and they aren’t keeping up with anything. I asked for toilet paper and got treated like I’d ruined someone’s day because they had to get off their butt. Pay more and go somewhere else. This place sucks. The food was the worst part. It’s all fake food, microwaved, and the apples and other fruit are soggy. I don’t recommend staying here, and this will definitely be my last visit. Unless leadership changes from what it was three years ago, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The location was handy, and the price compared well with other hotels nearby. Camden at the front desk was especially friendly and helpful. Our room had plenty of space, though it could've been cleaner. Breakfast was a real letdown, one of the worst hotel breakfasts I've had, so we went out for breakfast every day.

There was renovation work happening, but the hotel was still clean and fairly quiet. It's well placed for shops and restaurants, and the front desk staff were friendly. Breakfast was disappointing, with lukewarm coffee. I tried one of the premade breakfast sandwiches.

The dining area and TV lounge are spacious, and there's an adjoining outdoor fire pit that's a nice touch. Our room was large, too. Breakfast had a great selection, including cereal, yogurt, juice, eggs, bagels, cream cheese, sausage, toast, and waffles. It's close to everything, and I'd stay here again.
