Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Liberty/NE Kansas City Area

We stayed two nights, and everything was clean. The bed was very comfortable, and there were lots of restaurants, grocery stores, and retail shops close by. Breakfast could use some work: I couldn't get the waffle batter out, and the milk was in a pitcher. Cartons would be better, in my opinion. I'd definitely stay again next time I'm nearby.

After more than 19 hours on the road from Arizona to Wisconsin, we arrived at 3 a.m. and were told there was no reservation. My partner had booked online and showed the confirmation number and email through Wyndham. We could also see the reservation online, and Wyndham customer care found it too. The man at the desk was about to book us a new room, but a woman who said she was the GM stopped him and refused us. She then said we'd be charged twice if we booked another room, but wouldn't give her name or any details to back that up. When I said I would escalate it to customer care, she still wouldn't identify herself. This was the night shift on 11/2. We've opened a customer care case with Wyndham. The service and attitude were horrible. Avoid this place.

We missed breakfast because we slept in, which was a shame, though I'm sure it would've been good. Everything else went smoothly when my boyfriend and I stayed after a concert. The front desk lady was super friendly, check-in and checkout took seconds, and our room was really clean, better than I expected. The area felt safe and is only 20 minutes from downtown KC. We'll absolutely stay again if we're back in KC, and I'd recommend it.

They canceled our reservation after we asked about room availability. I've never been treated so badly by hotel employees. They say it's a family-owned business, but they need some lessons in how to run one, because their business motto is unlike anything I've seen. The rudeness and unprofessionalism would take pages to explain. Stay far away. You don't have to take my word for it, just read the other reviews. Very poor.
