Tia at the front desk was a huge help with all our Bonvoy questions and really knew her stuff. The rooms feel a little dated, though they were comfortable, and the gorgeous view more than made up for that. We also appreciated the owner’s lounge while waiting for a late flight. There was complimentary bottled water and games, plus access to the pool and a hospitality room with lockers and showers. It was nice to relax by the pool before going to the airport. The hospitality throughout our stay was wonderful.

The pool was a favorite, and we slept well in a quiet room with a comfortable bed during our five nights. Our room was clean, spacious, and had a lovely beach view. We aren't timeshare owners, just booked online. I’d read complaints about dated rooms and poor service before arriving, so I was a little concerned, but none of that matched our experience. We checked in early, around 3:30, and the room was already ready. There are lots of restaurants nearby; Musubi Truck and Dukes were our favorites. We also had fun watching the Koi fish around the grounds.

The pool and beach were amazing, with plenty of chairs and a pool area that never felt crowded. I also liked the number of hot tubs. The service was good and the location worked well. Still, I wouldn't stay here again because the rooms were so loud. You could hear EVERYTHING through the connecting door, including a couple having very loud sex in a hotel full of kids. Yes, it was that bad. We expected two queen beds, but after arriving we had to wait for hours without our luggage, just hanging around until the room was ready. Then we found a single bed folded out of the wall. They called it a queen, but it was a full mattress, uncomfortable, and once it was down we couldn't use the couch. When I called, the woman said they didn't even have rooms with two queen beds. I asked about upgrading to get a regular bed, but because I had booked through Expedia they said it was impossible, and I'd have to buy another room. Ridiculous, so we stayed put. The Marriott lobby is a small room off to the side and hard to find, especially compared with the huge, obvious Royal Sonesta lobby. It definitely made us feel lower class. The wifi wasn't great, and phone service was weak either.

The beach is right beyond the hotel pool, which was so nice. Since it was my first visit, I hadn't known where the hotel was, but after a few days I found the location convenient, with the airport nearby as well as Costco and shops. There were so many chickens that the island itself felt noisy, though that became part of the memory. The place was clean and convenient, and I had such a fun time. I'd definitely like to come back.

The room was comfortable, though our unit had a Murphy bed that turned into the sofa during the day. The mattress and bedding were comfy, but we had to put it up every morning. The pool is the best part for me: it's huge, never felt too crowded, and the five hot tubs help spread people out. The beach is lovely and has no waves, and the restaurants were fantastic too. One of the best places I've stayed in Kauai.
