The Jeremiah Mason House B & B

After going out, it was lovely to come back to our cozy little room. The rooms were adorably arranged, and everything was perfectly tidy and clean. The space was charming and amazing. Valerie, the owner, made us feel welcome and was so accommodating. There was more to do nearby than we expected, including lots of great antiquing about 20 minutes away if you're willing to drive.

Valerie makes breakfast each morning and uses a sign-up sheet for either 8:30 or 9:15. She's very conscientious about guests' food allergies. We had a lovely weekend stay. The room was comfortable, and the room, bathroom, and linens were super clean.

Our first bed and breakfast experience was remarkable. The house has a really riveting history, so ask about George when you visit. Valerie greeted us warmly and was a wonderful hostess, with great recommendations for local food and things to do. She also made delicious breakfasts every morning. There really is no other way to describe it!

Valerie's breakfasts were the highlight of our stay. She asked if there was anything specific we wanted, but we left it up to her and weren't disappointed. On the first morning she served a spinach and feta frittata with bell pepper, bacon, pineapple, and a muffin. On our final morning it was vanilla french toast with powdered sugar, strawberries, breakfast sausages, and local maple syrup. Coffee, tea, and orange juice were available too. When we needed to leave early one morning, she kindly left breakfast sandwiches and mandarin oranges in the downstairs fridge. We stayed in room three on the second level. It was beautifully decorated and had its own bathroom with a standing shower, mirror, and toilet. Fresh linens, vintage light switches, a luggage rack, and room to hang clothes were nice touches. Valerie welcomed us on arrival and explained the property and what to expect. For our first trip to Maine, we wanted somewhere with character. Jeremiah Mason House in the small town of Limerick was a charming bed and breakfast and gave us a taste of small town Maine. It was about 50 minutes from Portland and 3.5 hours from Bar Harbor, so we could take day trips to both cities. We can't wait to return on future visits.
