Inn at Spanish Head

We still like this place for the beachfront location and the sound of the waves, but we'd choose a different room next time and probably eat elsewhere. We were in Room 422. The large balcony had a fantastic full ocean view, though it had very little furniture compared with nearby units. The bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was small, the shower just okay, and the TV was placed so oddly that watching from bed wasn't comfortable. The kitchenette and dining table were useful, but this room had no oven and very few supplies. If you plan to cook, bring basics like utensils and oil. The salt and pepper shakers were tiny, and who knows how long they'd been there. We had dinner at the onsite restaurant. Kat was personable and engaging, and made the evening enjoyable, but the food didn't justify the prices. The prime rib lacked flavor, the halibut with crab was dry and blah, and the fries were good and salted right, just a small serving for the cost. One morning my wife went for coffee before the restaurant officially opened, and they kindly gave it to her free. It was good. Room service came in the morning too, and the gentleman who delivered it was very friendly. Check-in was a bright spot: we got in early on a beautiful coast day, and despite the property being full, it stayed quiet overnight. This remains one of our favorite coastal spots for its oceanfront setting and views.
