The room really wasn’t great, and the two-star rating isn’t meant as an insult. I could’ve rated it lower. It could’ve been much cleaner. There’s no carpet, so running a Swiffer over the floor would take about two minutes and make a big difference. I hope they improve, though maybe you get what you pay for.
This motel isn’t ADA compliant for wheelchair guests, so people should know before booking. The doorways are tight, and the doors aren’t powered, meaning you can’t get in or out without someone opening them. The elevator room was very cramped, with the chair hitting the doors and walls on all sides. Getting into and out of the room was difficult without help. I requested a roll-in shower through Bookings.com, but the motel said no. Check-in and getting to the room were also delayed. I’m not happy.
I’ve stayed at several Motel 6 locations, and this one was better than most, even beating a few Studio 6s. The customer service was excellent, and the staff were amazing. Our newly painted room had very comfortable beds with three pillows each, and everything in it worked. Thanks to Anita (General Manager) for helping make the stay so good. We’ll stay here every time we come to Lincoln City.
You get what you pay for, I guess. My family and I booked this for our last night on the coast because it was more budget friendly. Before arriving, I called about checking in half an hour early. They said the rooms weren’t ready or clean yet, which I understood. But the lobby smelled so strongly of animal urine that I almost threw up, and the hallways had a funky odor too. There was hair in the sink in my room, which felt gross after being told the rooms were being cleaned. The rooms reminded me of an old hospital. If you’re in a wheelchair or disabled, there’s a huge hill in the parking lot up to the door. We left straight away and went home a day early. The only upside if you need somewhere to stay instead of sleeping in your car is that there’s a bathroom. I’ve never felt so grossed out or less at home.
I wouldn’t stay here. It was by far the dirtiest hotel I’ve seen. When I pulled back the comforter, the “clean” linens had head and pubic hairs, and my bed had blood and poop stains. The connecting doors to another guest’s room didn’t lock. I tried raising these problems with the hotel staff and Motel 6 headquarters, but got nowhere.
