Embassy Suites Lincoln

The bar's last call is 9:30pm, which was the only downside for me. Since the hotel has an open atrium, I can see why they don't keep it open later. I was happy with the room, service, and breakfast during my business trip, and would recommend staying here in Lincoln.

My last stay was excellent. I've stayed here twice for work, and I like the Embassy suite rooms. Both times, restaurant room service wasn't available, and the same woman checked me in with an attitude that made it seem like I was bothering her. Checkout was fine. Parking costs extra, which is unfortunate. My company requires me to use this location when I'm in town, though without that restriction I'd try somewhere else.

I got a notice saying I might be charged a late cancellation fee after the hotel canceled my rooms without asking me. I called and explained it to the manager, and Cindy apologized and helped me out a lot. That seemed fair to me, so I changed my rating from one star to at least three. I'll update the review fully after my Saturday stay.

I booked this room to celebrate my engagement, and called the property a week ahead to make sure my sister could check in and decorate before we arrived. I added her to the reservation and was told it would be fine. On check-in day, she was told she couldn't enter without me. They eventually let her in as a “favor,” but even after I checked in digitally that morning, I still had to stop at the desk when we got there. Nobody mentioned our Hilton Honors status or explained amenities like restaurant and pool hours. The next day, while we were out for lunch around 1:30, housekeeping entered despite the DND sign. They made the bed with used sheets, took out the trash, and left. The front desk said they'd investigate and tell me what happened the following day. Cindy offered a 2pm checkout for the inconvenience. Even so, at 11am I got a call asking me to come down because there was a problem with my card and they couldn't check me out. We packed and left after that, and housekeeping knocked despite the DND sign and the late checkout being clearly on her list. At the desk, the employee had no information about why I'd been asked to come down and tried charging my card again, even though the folio balance was zero. I've stayed at Hilton Hotels for years and never had this happen. Now I know which property to avoid.
