Great Plains Budget Inn

I think the people running this family owned hotel are genuinely good. They seem friendly and welcoming, and have worked tirelessly to renovate, clean, and organize the whole building. It has a big metropolitan city feel, right in the heart of Lincoln and high above the rest on prime estate, with downtown views. It's easy for locals and travelers to get around from there, with a smoke shop and restaurants next door, plus multiple gas stations, slots, downtown shops, markets, hardware stores, and all that.

The service and location make this hard to beat for the price. The old school rooms, including the smoking rooms, were clean. Once, after a night out, it was around negative 15 or something and the heater couldn't keep up. The guy at the desk brought back two space heaters. Another time, I just remember the family being really friendly and helpful. They've gone above and beyond.

The rooms are basic and the decor is dated, but they were very clean, and the family running the place were extremely friendly. I was surprised by how great the cleanliness and staff were. I also felt safe leaving my car and belongings there while I went to a concert.

A nice, cozy room and friendly, helpful service made this a great place for a night out in Lincoln. The air conditioning worked great, and there was a microwave, coffee machine, and refrigerator in the room. It's an inexpensive option within walking distance of downtown. We'd stay again.
