Bluegreen Vacations South Mountain, an Ascend Collection Resort

The balcony had great views, and the staff were friendly. It felt secure, and the rooms were clean, though they could use a little touching up. There are walking and hiking trails nearby, along with scenic routes.

The room was impressively well finished. I work in the construction trades and notice details like crooked fixtures and gaps in baseboards, but there were none. The crown moulding had no gaps or messy seams, and even the screws on the switch and outlet plates were straight. Whoever did the work did a great job. The few imperfections were clearly from later wear. We had the larger studio, about the size of a small hotel room, and it was fantastic. It had a comfortable bed, a huge walk-in shower, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and electric fireplace. The refrigerator was exceptionally small, even smaller than a standard hotel fridge, and had no freezer, so getting ice meant going to the fourth floor. Water pressure was about 3.5 out of 5: good in the shower, nearly too weak at the bathroom sink to rinse a razor, and the kitchen sink took a while to fill a coffee pot. We were there in the off-season, so your experience may vary. Staff were friendly and everything was clean.

Evan was especially helpful, and the staff were friendly. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. After our hike, having a jacuzzi in the room was the cherry on top. Bluegreen is in a perfect spot, with lots of restaurants around. We'd definitely recommend it and come back.

The views of the White Mountains, Franconia Notch, and Kinsman Notch were outstanding. It's a small resort in a central spot for hiking and other outdoor activities, with nice pools and hot tubs. We were hoping to see a moose on this trip 🫎
