Stay Inn by OYO Near I 80 Lincoln West

The room had cockroaches everywhere, and I had to leave. They refunded me right away, but this was easily the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. The climate control didn’t work, the toilet seat was covered in urine, and the bottom of the bathtub was grey. There were bugs in the room too.

My wife came from Miami and found nobody on site when she reached the motel. She called the service number repeatedly before someone finally answered rudely. Then she stood outside in freezing weather for 46 minutes before anyone came to check her in. Nobody apologized or explained what was going on. The room she was given was awful. There was no shampoo or conditioner, just one dirty towel behind the bathroom door, and the shower was dirty. The sink didn’t work, the toilet was filthy, and someone had left used soap behind. She couldn't shower because there were no clean towels and the shower was unsanitary. There were roaches inside the refrigerator, which says a lot. She went back outside right after entering the room to report the missing items and filthy conditions, but the man who checked her in had already disappeared within minutes. He was completely unavailable. Disgusting and unacceptable from start to finish, easily the worst stay we’ve had. Avoid this place.

We booked this motel through Super.com for the Christmas holidays and paid $108 and some change for the room. When we arrived, the front desk was empty, with only a paper on the door telling us to call for help. I called six times and texted three, and it took an hour before anyone came to check us in. At checkout, nobody was there again, so we had to put our key cards in the mailbox. They also charged another $160 as a supposed deposit, which was meant to be returned. We haven't seen a dime of it. It feels like they took our money and weren't around when guests needed help. They need to fix this motel so people can have a decent stay and not lose their money.

It was Husker game day, so we took what we could get, but I’d never recommend this place. Check-in was meant to be at 2 pm, yet at 530 the room still wasn’t ready. They were short staffed. After I complained to the booking site at 545 pm, they told me they wanted a $200 deposit, then said they don’t rent to locals. We’d already paid $400 and still weren’t given a room. I called the police and the BBB because they wouldn’t rent to locals and hadn’t prepared the room. A guy staying there told me the ice machine and laundry machines were broken. The short owner has little man's syndrome. They gave more than one reason for keeping my money and then wouldn’t give us the room once I complained. Check it out before you go and see what a nasty dive it is.
