Travelodge Lincoln

The room was set apart, which I liked, and one of the front desk women was nice. The sheets didn’t feel clean, though, and my sister couldn’t sleep because they made her itchy. Breakfast was average, with nothing to complain about. Hallways smelled like dirt and smoke and really need work. The other exits wouldn’t let us back in, so we had to enter through the front desk every time we went out. That got old, especially since we were in and out a lot. One guy was hanging around on his day off with his girlfriend, who works there, or whoever she was to him, and that came across as unprofessional.

We booked because my husband was nervous, and the photos had made the place look nice. When we arrived, it was much more run down than we expected. Our pet-friendly room looked like it had only had the sheets changed between guests. The front desk woman was very nice, and the low price and pet policy helped since bringing our dog limited our options. But the pool was closed, which was disappointing because our child wanted to swim after four days in the car. I should have asked about it beforehand.

The staff at the front desk were great both in person and on the phone, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The room hadn’t been cleaned under the bed or behind the furniture. There was trash behind the couch and rose petals under the bed. The bathroom’s hot water was broken, and the faucet kept dripping day and night, loud enough to drive me crazy. We were moving across the country and needed a decent place for me and my cat. Around 10am, an hour before checkout, someone tried to open our door without knocking. I had the latch on, and I think that’s the only thing that stopped them. I don’t know why staff would try to enter before checkout.

Iris at the front desk was nice. At 9pm, with our kids, we had to walk through a group of drunk people outside the check-in doors, smoking and swearing. They were from the hotel bar, which stays open until 2am. The room was filthy. There was a cracked window, holes in the walls, large water marks on the cracked ceiling, and dead bugs in a corner. The surfaces by the microwave and fridge were dusty, and we didn’t want to put anything on the floor. The showerhead was completely rusty, and breakfast was terrible. We paid $150 for one night because it was a busker game and we couldn’t find another room. If this is the only hotel in Lincoln with a room, keep driving.
