The location was the only good part. We’d told them we’d arrive late and had reservations for two rooms, but when we got there they’d taken the hold off and were going to give the rooms to other people. The front desk staff were rude, and check-in took 20 minutes. Our hallway smelled strongly of old pee. In the rooms, we found old yogurt cups beside the bed, and one room smelled absolutely horrible. We had to sleep with the balcony door open. This is by far the worst place I’ve stayed, and I’ll never stay here again.

I moved through three rooms in three days. In room 328, the heater stopped working, and there was no weekend maintenance. There were roaches in room 323, including in the hall and behind my refrigerator. A woman said, “We’re working on the roaches.” I pointed out that the trap between the refrigerator and cabinet was full. I was moved to room 302, then kicked out the next morning over the dog incident. When I opened the door and she saw my dog on the bed, she blamed me for being kicked out. I’m a 64-year-old retired homeless veteran working with the VA Administration and SSVS. I contacted the property’s investors. She won’t get away with this. We’ll meet again.

I finally gave up and left, but on my way out I found a woman passed out in front of my car. I spent an hour helping her and calling emergency services, while Iris never came out of the hotel to see what was going on. People who weren’t staying there were hanging around outside, and the place was filthy. Iris at the front desk was rude and unhelpful. Don’t stay here, save yourself the filth and trouble. Earlier, a dog next door barked for two hours. I called the desk, and Iris said she wasn’t on the fourth floor, so she wouldn’t know if a dog was barking. There was no housekeeping, and the maintenance man was two doors down working on a room but said nothing. Nobody came up to check. When I went down, Iris told me she’d already called the guest and there was nothing more she could do. I’m a guest too, and wanted to be treated like one. The hotel is renovating, but it was very dirty, and not because of the renovations. This was the worst hotel experience of my life. If I could give zero stars, I would.

We arrived as walk-ins during a cross-country trip for a medical emergency, since the unpredictable schedule meant we couldn’t book ahead. We were told only studio rooms were available. With demand high in the area, we were grateful to get a room at first. We’ve often appreciated Motel 6’s easy pet policy and accommodations for our family and our dog. The room turned out to have roaches everywhere: in corners, drawers, and even the bedding. When I moved the shower curtain, roaches poured into the tub. They didn’t scatter when we came in, which made it seem like this infestation had been there unchecked for a long time. My daughters were terrified. We couldn’t bring our belongings inside for fear of contamination, and we slept sitting up only briefly before continuing our trip. I asked the front desk for help calming my children. I understand management approval may be needed to provide cleaning supplies, but staff showed little concern or acknowledgment. This was the worst stay I’ve had in years of travel, including at lower-end places. I’m shocked this location is still operating under the Motel 6 brand. It poses a serious health and safety risk and damages the company’s reputation. Please investigate the property right away and take appropriate action so other families aren’t put through this. I’d appreciate a response explaining what Motel 6 plans to do. MOTEL 6 Response: We appreciate you taking time to tell us about your recent experience with us. We aim to provide a top-notch guest experience, and we’re sorry yours didn’t meet expectations. Your feedback will help us avoid issues like this in the future. Thanks for bearing with us. We look forward to making it right next time. Thanks again, The Guest Experience Team.

My family was horrified by the roach infestation. We usually like Motel 6’s no-hassle policy for our four-legged family member, but we were traveling across the country for a medical emergency and couldn’t tell in advance how far we’d get each day, so we walked in without a booking. There were only studio rooms left, and we were just glad to find a room in an area that was oddly booked up. The girls screamed when they came in and begged to sleep in the car. This wasn’t a roach here and there. They’d made themselves at home and didn’t even scatter when we entered. When I moved the shower curtain, which had been draped into the soap dish, roaches rained down. There were roaches in every drawer, every corner, and in the bedding. We were afraid of bringing hitchhikers with us, so we left our belongings out of the room. We sat upright in bed long enough for me to nap, then kept driving. I travel for a living, and this was by far the worst, most disgusting experience I’ve had, even after stays in some low-end places. I can’t believe the brand hasn’t shut this place down and fixed the problem before its reputation is tarnished. I asked the front desk for something to ease the girls’ minds, and the glass cleaner I got didn’t help. The desk person had no comment or concern, only said they hadn’t clocked in yet and needed to ask management before giving me a chemical bottle. I understand that part, but pretending the problem doesn’t exist is poor business. Shame on you. MOTEL 6 RESPONSE: It was the standard, sorry you were displeased, hope your next stay with us is better. There are too many other options for me to give STUDIO 6 another shot if this is how problems are handled.
