Holiday Inn Lincoln Southwest by IHG

I spent another 40 minutes trying to deal with this after the phone call, and I still hadn't even checked in. The hotel booked me twice and charged my card for two rooms. I only asked in the notes if a connecting room might be an option in case someone I knew rented another room. I never ordered two rooms. I called customer service as soon as I saw the double charge. Of the 28-minute call, 20 minutes were on hold, and I got attitude and an email basically saying my card had been charged, along with an email address for a GM. Good luck, they said. Now I have to send an email and see where that gets me.

The front desk staff were the best part, with five-star hospitality. They welcomed us with snacks and water and were attentive and helpful. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable, so I'd give it a four. The pool was satisfactory, but there was no spa. Breakfast was just okay, and seemed out of date.

The room and bathroom were nice, but the folding bed was horrible, bent, uncomfortable, and really squeaky and creaky. The bedding was so bad too. The blanket was full of fluff, very uncomfortable, and left fluff all over the floor. The air conditioner had mold and dust, and there was a stain on the control monitor. It was bad.

I hadn't meant to book here, since we were planning to stop in Ottumwa, but I'm so glad I did. The service was excellent, the beds were unbelievably comfortable, and the place was clean and smelled fresh. We could open the window for fresh air, which is such a rare treat at a hotel. The tub water got really hot, and I loved having a bath since, as a truck driver, I usually only get showers. Our pups had a blast too, with plenty of open space to run and sniff. Breakfast was buffet style, with lots of choices and a really nice dining area. I can't say enough good things. Highly recommend!
