The room was spacious, really nice, and very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast had a good spread of hot food like oatmeal, eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes and waffles, along with cold items and grab-and-go choices. The food area staff were very nice too. The front desk young women were super helpful and friendly. As soon as we walked in, we noticed an awesome scent and spent a couple of minutes trying to figure out where it came from. Whoever on the guest experience team came up with that idea, great move. This was by far the nicest Hampton Inn I've stayed in, and a really great experience.

The hotel sits in a renovated historic building, and they did a commendable job keeping historic details while adding modern touches. It's near downtown and the University of Nebraska, with the Haymarket area within walking distance. The surrounding neighborhood is being revitalized and can feel a little sketchy. I noticed a little street noise depending on room location, especially near O Street, though the hotel was quiet overall even when full. Breakfast was decent and varied, with rotating eggs, omelets, breakfast meats, hard-boiled eggs, and complimentary coffee and tea available around the clock. The front desk staff were consistently welcoming. The app's Digital Key worked perfectly for check-in and all the doors, so you can skip the desk. There's coin laundry, a small but decent fitness room, pet-friendly rooms, and Smart TVs. Secure covered parking in the adjoining garage costs $12 nightly and has an indoor walkway; for easy, safe access, that was worth it. Our King Studio was large, with high ceilings and a small window. The bed was comfy, and both the bathroom and closet were spacious. It needs more drawer space, a real work desk instead of the small table, and extra lighting since it felt a bit dark. The hotel itself is a solid find for a Hilton regular. We were surprised by an undisclosed extra parking charge for the football game on top of the standard daily rate. It was eventually removed, but staff should explain possible charges at arrival. I was also told housekeeping was daily at check-in, then found out after calling that it happens every other day or on request, as the in-room QR code says. Staff seem to need training on the policy. I'd still prefer daily service, but the main issue was the miscommunication.

Ask about the building's history when you're here. We had such a happy stay, and the breakfast was amazing. The staff were smiling, welcoming, and helpful with all our questions, then pointed us to our rooms with even more smiles. Their cheerful attitude made us smile too and represents your brand well. Everyone should experience this place. Enjoy the Hampden Inn by Hilton Downtown Lincoln!

The hotel is a unique, clean, fresh, and spacious place in a cool historic building. The young man at the desk was professional, very nice, and genuinely helpful, and we had a great overnight stay. They don't yet have overnight parking arranged for large vehicles, trucks, or trailers. The concierge helped us figure out somewhere to stay for the night.

After walking a mile from the parking garage, we reached our room only to find the thermostat didn't work. We had to pack everything back up and return to the lobby for another room, even though they already knew there were problems with the thermostat in the one we'd been assigned. There was no apology, discount, or anything. The manager on duty seemed not to care, and I'm blaming him because he was supposed to know about the issue and did nothing. His snooty attitude made us feel unwelcome. There was also a payment mess after I booked through expedia. They said they didn't accept payment through expedia, so I paid again with my debit card and was charged twice. Very disappointing.
