The inn is in a quiet spot outside Camden, a very cool town, and the grounds slope down to the water. We stayed in the building near check-in and breakfast. The rooms are pleasant and have the feel of a quaint local inn rather than a chain. Book direct to get the lovely breakfast included, otherwise it’s $12 per person. Holly and Mark went out of their way to make fresh Brazilian cheesy bread and a frittata for my wife, who has celiac disease. I had homemade popovers, a blueberry muffin, hard-boiled eggs, and fruit, all served with a sea view. Breakfast was also a chance to meet interesting people from all over. Great people and a great location. We’ll definitely return.

Our room had a lovely ocean view and a very comfortable mattress, and we slept like babies. The sitting rooms in the main building were cozy, and the breakfast room looked out over the water. It was a peaceful place to unwind after day trips, and the location worked well as a home base. We could see that upgrades are happening gradually, and the improvements are noticeable. Mark and Holly treated us like old friends and paid close attention to guests’ needs. We saw them carry bags, get the Wi-Fi running in a downpour, and stay up to accommodate late arrivals, including us. Mark’s popovers and muffins were fantastic, and locally roasted coffee was always available.

We enjoyed the outdoor gas fire area, where we chatted with a delightful guest. Mark was friendly and cooked a delicious breakfast of eggs, homemade popovers, blueberry muffins, fruit, coffee, and tea. Camden State Park is only about five miles away. We had a great time on two trails there, then went to the harbor and sailed on the Schooner “Surprise” with captains Tyler & Ethan, spotting porpoises and seals. The High Tide Inn’s grounds were beautiful, with sunset skies to the west and sunrise to the east. The main house and cottages felt charming and peaceful, with a warm country atmosphere. The hospitality, comfort, and proximity to the village and Camden State Park made it a wonderful place to stay.

We’re already planning to return next summer for a full week. The private beach access was a lovely extra, and we enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night with those amazing views. Our room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly. Breakfast was delicious, especially Mark’s popover and one of the best blueberry muffins I’ve ever had. Holly and the owner, whose name I’m sorry I forgot, welcomed us warmly. My husband and I had such a lovely romantic stay, with exceptional hospitality throughout.

The view, beach access, and salty air were incredible, and we’ll definitely return. Holly was bubbly and seemed to be working around the clock, and Mark made us feel welcome too. Our room in the main Inn building was exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated, with an ocean feel that avoided the usual anchors and “life is a beach” signs. The main floor was gorgeous. The Inn could use some updates and weather-related maintenance, but improvements were underway while we were there. The price felt fair for the area and the work still pending. Our room had a B&B feel, and next time we’d choose a separate building because we felt we should whisper. I would’ve preferred bigger towels and a softer mattress, but those were small things in a very nice, distinctive stay.
