Hampton Inn Linden

I’ve stayed here a few times and would come back. The room was good, check-in and checkout were smooth, and everything was as expected. The front desk and other staff were courteous and professional.

We got no housekeeping during our stay, no room cleaning or trash pickup, and not even one towel change. When I asked at the front desk for fresh towels, they said they didn’t have any. What kind of hotel runs out of towels? For what they charge, I expected the basics. It was a horrible experience, and I expect financial compensation for the trouble we went through. I wouldn’t recommend staying until they fix these serious service issues.

We were traveling with two adults and two one year old infants, and had requested two pack and plays before booking, in the reservation, and again when we arrived. We were relieved to see them in the room, still folded up, but one was covered all over in feces and mucous. I called down right away, asked for sheets for the other one, and was told they had none. They also had no replacement pack and play. When I went down to ask what they could do, they rudely said nothing. We had to buy one next door at Target for $110, almost the cost of the room, and only used it once. At checkout I raised the issue; the receptionist took my information and said they’d contact me, but never did. I also called the manager to make sure the dirty one was thrown away so no other family would face this at 9 pm, and got no response or call back. Families with toddlers or infants should stay far away.

The fourth-floor rooms have high ceilings and lots of space, but I would’ve preferred not to be near the stairs because the doors slam throughout the night. Wi-Fi dropped out about five times and I had to sign in again each time. The bathroom has an odd smell now and then, maybe from the sink water, almost like a sewer. Breakfast could be better too, the hash browns and eggs weren’t very good.
