Holiday Inn Express & Suites Linden – Newark South by IHG

The location worked well for us, with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance, plus free parking and breakfast. The room was a good size, and the hotel feels new. We stayed six nights, though the experience was mixed. Noise came through the thin walls, especially doors and people walking late at night. Trucks and buses often filled the lot and sometimes blocked cars overnight. We also found a nose wipe on the wall when we checked in. Staff took care of it after we reported it, but it shouldn’t have been overlooked. We didn’t know housekeeping was only available by request. We asked twice and got limited service once, just trash removal and fresh towels. The stay was decent for the location and price, but cleanliness and service need work.

The staff were so good, they really deserve a raise for all the effort they put in. I had a great stay and would come back when I visit the USA. For the price, the hotel offered a lot. It’s new, the rooms are clean and spacious, and ours had two queen beds. The area felt safe, with a shopping plaza and restaurants about a two-minute walk away, Walmart five minutes away, and New York and Jerseys mills outlet nearby. There were useful free items at reception, including toothbrushes and hairbrushes, and Costa coffee beans were available around the clock from one of the best coffee machines. That saved me quite a bit on coffee. The Christmas decorations were a nice touch too.

Hon Nguyen really stood out. He’s warm and professional at the same time, and I hope holiday inn and express recognize his talent and consider him for training staff across multiple hotels. The other staff were amazing too, and helpful with restaurant recommendations. For the price, the room was very nice, and the shower was great.

We were in New York for a visit and planned to stay near Newark airport, but an unexpected snowstorm left that hotel full. We ended up at Holiday Inn Express in Linden, and it turned out to be a great choice. Even with the weather, getting around was easy. The hotel is fairly new, with a lovely lobby, and check-in was smooth thanks to the friendly, helpful staff. Our room was very clean. Breakfast was included and had a nice range of options, while the hot drink station was especially welcome in the cold. There are shops and places to eat within walking distance, and Wawa is right across the street. I’d happily stay here again. A+ all around.
