Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, BWI Airport (Baltimore), MD

My partner and I were stranded at BWI after midnight when we learned our flight had been cancelled. The next flight home wasn’t until the following day. We found an affordable room at Country Inn & Suites, and the staff were very accommodating about an early check-in. They were a lifesaver, and we’re grateful for their hospitality. Great job!

The location was perfect for visiting loved ones, but I’ll look elsewhere next time. The hotel didn’t seem clean when I paid attention: there were dead bugs and cobwebs in the dining room windows, an empty tissue box in our room, and the area under the bathroom sink was disgusting. The side table light didn’t work, and the stainless steel elevator doors need to be cleaned properly. I tried to use three different hand sanitizer stations, in the main lobby, breakfast area, and before the elevator on the main level. At breakfast, the spicy sausage wasn’t labeled. My husband also said there was no hot water. He took photos, but I can’t share them.

The bed was very uncomfortable, and breakfast was disappointing. We also had no hot water, couldn’t adjust the heat, and the TV didn’t work. The front desk staff were extremely rude. Outside, the parking lot was crowded and dirty, with trash left everywhere. There were far more problems than positives. Terrible hotel overall.

I’m usually easygoing and understand mistakes happen, but paying over $80 for a stay of less than three hours after driving 7+ hours was just not okay. I want at least a partial refund. The only reason I wouldn’t ask for all of it back is that the man who helped me was kind and professional. I arrived at 2:24 a.m. on Friday. I’d called around 11:30 p.m. to say I’d be late, and the representative said that was fine. The lobby immediately hit me with a disgusting smell. I waited 5 to 10 minutes for someone to come to the desk. He arrived while I was on the phone, said there was no reservation and he needed to redo it, then left to help someone else and told me to sit in the lobby. After he came back, he gave me two room keys in a row that didn’t work. I went up and down the elevator several times, then sat on the floor by my door and called the front desk to ask for a working card. He came up and thought he might have assigned the wrong room. He walked the hallway several times, went back down in the elevator, returned about five minutes later, checked the rooms again, and eventually put me in a different room.
