The website said the place was newly remodeled, but we were put in the older section, even though both sections cost the same. Our room, number 139, had mismatched curtains, a lamp with no bulb, a very old-looking comforter, thin sheets, hard old spring mattresses, and carpet I wouldn’t walk on barefoot. The bathroom window was cracked open a little, presumably for ventilation. There was no restaurant across the lot, even though the site advertises a lounge and restaurant there. We checked the desk drawer for local menus and found dust bunnies instead. Friends in the newer section had a mini fridge but an old tube TV. Our room at least had a flat screen, which let me put cartoons on for my kids. We came for a wedding and only needed two beds and a bathroom. It was bitterly cold, around -2 in the daytime and -20 to -30 at night. When we arrived at 4 pm, the room was 50 degrees. With two small children, one still in diapers, we had to go to a nearby store so I could change my son somewhere warm. I turned the thermostat from 50 to 80 before we left, hoping it would heat up. After an hour away, the room had warmed by only four degrees. Someone came to check and said the heater, a large unit near the ceiling over the bed, worked and just needed time. Four hours after check-in it finally reached 68 degrees. I got the kids to sleep eventually, and we cuddled around my heating pad to stay warm. In the morning, the front desk said there was no continental breakfast, despite the website listing one. The manager wasn’t helpful or apologetic. When I mentioned the cold room, she said she’d sent housekeeping at noon to turn the rooms up. I was glad I’d brought my son’s pack and play, since it was the only place I felt okay letting him play. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. If you can choose the Super 8 or a nearby town, I would.

It was clean and okay for the price, and the beds were short but comfortable. I didn’t like being charged an extra $10 for my dog when the ad said pets welcome and only a handwritten sign mentioned the fee. There are coyotes around, so keep your dog leashed.

The room was freezing at 50 degrees when we checked in. We spent an hour walking around local businesses, including the supermarket the front desk woman hadn’t made it to, hoping the room might warm up and looking for the breakfast the website promised. When we got back, it was only three degrees warmer. Apparently breakfast is available only if she can get to the supermarket, and she hadn’t that Saturday. The advertised restaurant and lounge in the parking lot has clearly been closed for at least a year. The site also claims renovations and mini fridges. Our room had no fridge, and calling a few TVs upgraded from tube sets to flat screens a renovation is a stretch. The mattresses’ springs felt like a dollar-store shiatsu massage. The room was so cramped that “comfortable and roomy” didn’t fit at all. Worst motel stay I’ve ever had, by far. If I could give it negative stars, I would.

This was the worst motel I’ve stayed in. The room was dated and filthy, and the bathrooms looked like they hadn’t been mopped in years. The beds were awful and had actually been flipped over, though they weren’t double-sided. I was worried I might be sleeping with bed bugs. If you bring electronics, check that they don’t have three-prong plugs, because those won’t work. I felt like they should’ve been paying me to stay there. Want no sleep, a shabby room, and maybe bed bugs? This “rat shack” is the place.

I made a reservation by phone a week ahead, but when I arrived the room wasn’t ready. It took 35 minutes to check in at 6 pm because the housekeeper was out and the woman there didn’t clean the room. People living on site seemed lazy. The pool looked busted, like a turtle pond. The bed was fine, but there was no continental breakfast. I also got charged $5 a day extra for a fridge in the room I wanted because she hadn’t cleaned it.
