Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta West/Lithia Springs

We got exactly the restful night we needed. The room was spotless and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Check-in went smoothly, with a warm welcome from the staff as soon as we arrived. A wonderful one-night stay, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, hassle-free visit.

I found live and dead cockroaches in my room. I can’t say whether it was a major infestation, but I called the front desk and took pictures. They told me a refund check had been sent, yet months later I still haven’t received anything. Hilton Honors guest relations weren’t helpful either. Now I’m paying a lot to have my house treated, even though I’ve never had cockroaches or lived with them before. Horrible service.

The lobby was beautifully designed, with appealing decor, plenty of seating and lounge areas, and a place to buy snacks and drinks. Parking was close to the entrance, and the rooms were immaculate. The location was quiet, with plenty of nearby hotels and restaurants, and the staff were very friendly. One odd little surprise: we found a can of beer behind our towels in the bathroom.

The employees were kind, but the hotel itself let us down. We booked a night over spring break so the kids could swim. The website didn’t mention construction, though we couldn’t hear it in the room. What we could smell was a burnt battery odor. I reported it at the front desk, and the young woman said she’d send someone to check, but nobody came. The advertised indoor pool connects to the outdoor pool, and there were so many bugs floating in the water. The indoor pool was freezing because it was cold outside, and the jacuzzi was broken too. We stayed because trying to get the partial refund they offered would have meant losing money. Very disappointing. I should’ve called before booking online.
