The road and train noise are the only reasons I’m giving four stars. I used a white noise app on my phone and it helped a bit. Otherwise, the rooms were updated and very clean, with blackout shades, plenty of towels, bar soap, conditioning shampoo, and body wash. The staff were kind and friendly. Shops, restaurants, the Erie canal, and Moss Island are all walkable, and Adirondack hiking trails are a drive away. I’d stay again.

The 24-hour laundromat across the street was a lifesaver for my wet cycling clothes and gear. I found this hotel while biking the Erie Canal in May 2025, and it gave me a safe, dry place just minutes from the canal when it was pouring. My room had a fridge, a good shower, and a clean bed. The owners weren’t thrilled about my bike coming into the room, but they let me keep it on the tiled entry floor so it wouldn’t dirty the carpet. It’s downtown, a few minutes on foot from a grocery store and close to a few smaller restaurants. The town seemed pretty quiet, though that’s typical for Upstate NY. A really welcome break from trying to pitch a tent in the rain. I’d recommend it to other cyclists on the Empire State Trail/ Erie Canal.

The beds were incredibly soft and comfortable, and I slept like a baby. My room also had a large smart TV, a microwave, and a small fridge. The renovation turned out great: the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and there are fancy touch mirrors that light up.

I booked a room for a trip to Little Falls, NY to visit a friend who was dying of cancer, but she passed before I could make it. I called to ask if the hotel could credit the reservation toward a stay when I returned for her funeral later that week. They were rude and wouldn’t work with me at all. I found that completely heartless and money hungry. I urge people not to book with these awful people.
