The room was quiet and comfortable, with solid walls and no drafts. My second-floor room had a spacious layout, a firm king mattress, and very clean, fresh bedding and pillows. The bathroom was spotless and had fresh towels, shampoo, and soap. Water pressure at both the sink and shower was strong, and the hot water could be adjusted from warm to very hot. The LED ceiling light also had five white color temperature settings. There were a few manageable issues: the toilet needed its handle held down through the flush, the hair dryer didn’t work, and the noisy AC/heater had weak output and no obvious off switch. Setting the thermostat to 60 kept it off most of the time. My key card sometimes lost its programming and had to be reset at the front office. The TV used Samsung TV Plus. Breakfast was fresh and healthy, with four Kellogg’s cereal options, bagels and rolls, fruit, milk, three Nestlé Vitality juices, and regular Nescafe coffee in three strengths plus decaf. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. For clean, safe, no-frills lodging at an affordable rate in southeast Bergen County, NJ, I’d recommend this motel.

I stayed six nights and found the staff very friendly and helpful. I’d been concerned by older reviews, but management said they had renovated the rooms and addressed the reports about bugs and roaches. That matched my stay, as I didn’t see any. For the price, it was a great stay.

The front desk man was very pleasant and switched my room right away when I reported the roaches crawling around. The replacement was only slightly better, though, and the stained, dirty bedding meant I couldn’t let my family stay there. We checked out immediately, but I was still charged for one night. The place looked beautiful online, but there were warning signs before we even reached the room. There was Narcan in the lobby, and the walkway to the rooms was neglected. I wouldn’t recommend it for a family. Next time, I’d pay more for a hotel with a better reputation.

The room was large, the bed was big and okay to sleep on, and we felt safe behind a secure door. We also had free parking, a fridge, microwave, iron and board, large wall mirrors, and a table with chairs. Room service came, the towels and shower toiletries were okay, and the shower worked well once hot water arrived. We didn’t encounter bedbugs, and we managed to get through two nights, though the room cost £125 per night. We didn’t try the included breakfast since we left before 7am. It was easy to find and not far from NYC while driving, but the place felt more like a truck stop than a hotel. The receptionist was polite and friendly, behind a full counter-height glass screen. Inside, the room was disgusting. After 40 years of travelling abroad, it was the second worst room I’ve booked. The carpet looked 20 to 30 years old and had holes, the floor sloped badly enough to feel like it was subsiding, and paint was peeling. The bathroom door was hanging off its hinges. The table lamp was dirty, and the bedside lamp wasn’t plugged in. The huge bed made it difficult to reach the plug. There was no wardrobe, only a coat rack and some hangers. The TV was stuck on one movie channel that repeated every few hours with subtitles. The windows couldn’t be opened, which made me wonder about fire safety. The sheets had stains. They changed the first set after the first night, but the replacement set was stained too. The basin took ten minutes to get hot water. A small tip: run the bath water first to get it to your room. The bath and shower tap was badly designed. I’d read about it in earlier reviews, so knew you had to pull the dial very hard to start the water. It didn’t feel secure against the wall when pulled, and I thought it might break. The AC was noisy and mostly blew air, though we did get some heat. Some of its function buttons were missing, so it was hard to tell what you were operating.

Update: I didn’t mention bedbugs in my original review because it hadn’t been confirmed then. It has now been confirmed. Two people in my family have bites all over, with itching and red splotches from head to toe. I’ve been here one night, with several more to go unfortunately. The first room was very nice, but the TV only showed one channel and its remote buttons only worked for power, mute, and volume. I called for help and was told someone would come in 10-15 minutes. Nobody showed. Later, after we’d settled in, a man said he’d just move us next door. He said if that TV had a problem, they could send someone in the morning because he couldn’t be bothered fixing it. The next room was much less nice. The outlets didn’t work, and the TV wouldn’t turn on, let alone show more than one channel. The room phone didn’t work, so I called the office from my cell. The lady rushed me off the phone, saying someone would come in two minutes. It’s been a very long two minutes, and nobody has appeared. There were no apologies for any of the problems, just promises of help in 10-15 minutes, two minutes, or in the morning, with a feeling of “don’t bother me.” They could take the money, but didn’t help the people paying. Eventually someone came with an electric drill and remote control, retrieved an extension cord, and got the TV on. Most outlets still don’t work, and the bathroom door has no knob. It looks like it was smashed in. For ADA customers with walking disabilities, this isn’t ADA compliant. There’s one ramp at the back, which helps if your room is nearby on the first floor. If you’re on the second floor like me, good luck getting a walker up and down the stairs unless you have help. There’s no elevator.
