I was impressed during my business trip stay. The atmosphere was welcoming, and everything looked spotless and well maintained. I had a great experience and will come back on my next trip.

The check-in and check-out clerk was very kind and professional, and I appreciated her courteous service. Still, we left very disappointed. After we’d unpacked and gone to dinner, we returned to find we couldn’t get through our room door. The clerk told us to move to another room down the hall, without a clear explanation or any effort to fix the door. Repacking everything was a huge inconvenience, and I noticed another guest having trouble with her door too. The replacement room had more problems: the tub stopper didn’t work, the sink had no plug, and the pillows smelled strongly of body odor, making it seem like only the cases had been changed. When I reported this later to a different clerk, she was rude and unprofessional and didn’t apologize. I asked several times to speak to a manager, but was repeatedly told they weren’t available. This fell well below what I expect.

Getting around was easy since the hotel is close to everything, and everyone we met was friendly and made things simple. We were in town for a wedding, and the rooms were clean and quiet. Even though ours was right by the elevator, we barely heard anything. We enjoyed our stay.

I’ve stayed at several Syracuse hotels over the holidays, and nowhere else have I found staff this friendly. That goes for the front desk, housekeeping, and even management. They make you feel welcome and at home, and I even got a free bottle of wine at check-in.
