Travelodge by Wyndham Livonia

It’s a quiet place, and the woman at the front desk was so nice. I really enjoyed the one conversation we had when I visited my husband over the weekend. He was staying there for work, and had paid $392 for another week the day before he was laid off early the next morning. He works nights, so he’d only been there one night. The man in the office refused any kind of partial refund, saying weekly rates aren't refundable. My husband even offered to have one night's daily rate deducted and get the rest back, but they said management wouldn't allow it. I could understand keeping the money if he'd stayed four or five days, but charging $392 for a single night is absurd. He's never run into this at another hotel, so be cautious.

Older but clean motel, easy check-in, and affordable. A+.

We just needed somewhere to sleep after our car broke down a mile away. The auto shop next door was amazing and had us back on track the next day. The price was the same as I paid for my oceanfront suite in FL, so that tells you something. While the car was being finished, we had to leave the room and sit in the rain. The cleaner wasn't there and nobody else was coming, so I don't know why. Maybe they were trying to get more money from us? It seemed odd. Still, when you need a place to stay instead of being outside, this will do.

We stayed so long that my husband and the owner became friends. The owner is really nice and pays attention to what guests need, and everyone there is friendly. It's very clean, too. If we're working in the area and need a hotel again, this will definitely be our place.
