Best Western Locust Grove Inn & Suites

The room was much bigger than others I’ve stayed in, and having a jacuzzi in it was amazing. Breakfast was great too, with bacon, waffles, biscuits and gravy, and potatoes with onions and peppers, plus plenty of other choices. It felt like a nice home away from home. We had a great stay, and I’d recommend it.

We slept well, and both the bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was spacious, though it looked like a couch had once been there and all that was left was a wobbly office chair. Some things really brought the room down: a dead cricket under the table, a large hole at the AC unit’s corner, and a fridge that rocked. The pillow tags had turned into a lump of plastic-like material from so many washes. There was also a creepy doll in the window. We’re not fussy, but expected better. The toiletries were okay.

I regret spending money on this stay. Check-in took 10 minutes while the front desk employee sat where I could see them, watching a movie on a tablet. The whirlpool worked once, but left an orange film on the water and tub sides. After I drained and cleaned it, it wouldn’t run again. I couldn’t sleep because of the noise: heavy stomping overhead, people yelling outside, and what sounded like someone repeatedly clearing their throat by my door. After 7 a.m., it got even louder, like a full home renovation. I’m exhausted from the experience.

The staff were nice, and the lobby was clean, but the room needs upgrades. The bed was so uncomfortable that my back hurt every morning, the hot tub was only warm, and breakfast was mediocre. The bathroom door was crooked and noisy, the AC unit leaked onto the floor, and the carpet was grungy. We paid nearly $550 for three nights while in town for Rocklahoma, which felt overpriced. I’ve had nicer rooms for less and won’t stay again. Renovations and better beds would go a long way.
