Tru by Hilton Middletown

The morning setup was a nice surprise, with fresh waffles, good coffee, plenty to choose from, and no breakfast chaos. We were traveling with friends, and the hotel was close to restaurants, stores, and the highway while still quiet enough to sleep. The room felt fresh and updated, with comfortable beds, a clean bathroom, good water pressure, and storage that made sense. The place was spotless and modern, and the bright, open lobby felt welcoming. The desk staff seemed to care and greeted us warmly. I didn’t expect to like Tru by Hilton in Middletown this much. It felt like a step up from the usual places nearby, was good value, and I’d stay again.

The people here were the best part for me. Everyone I met at Tru Hotel Middletown seemed happy to be there, and treated me with real kindness and professionalism. They made sure I felt comfortable and looked after, starting right at check-in. The modern, spotless hotel has a lively, positive feel. My room was clean, spacious, and well designed, and had what I needed to relax. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, with plenty of healthy choices. The lobby was a nice place to unwind or get some work done. I’ll definitely come back.

I gave this place two stars out of graciousness. There’s a manager called G, and I believe he is racist. On March 7th 2026, he called the police on a Black lady after she shared her pain and hurt with him. She was very upset. She is battling cancer, her son had just died in hospice, she has 5 underlined illnesses dealing with her nerves, and her other son was in the hospital. She had driven all the way from Maryland. The manager knew what she was dealing with and, in my view, intentionally called the police, bringing more stress. There were 13 police cars outside, and they treated her like a criminal. She was a Nurse and lives in a million dollar home in Maryland. The heat didn’t work in three of the rooms I was in. When I complained, the manager told me after I checked out that he was going to put me on the do not rent list because he only wanted happy people who don’t complain. His boss called and apologized for his behavior, but this is really sad. I will be filing charges against him for racism. The hotel was built too fast and doesn’t feel like a good, safe place. It took all night to find me a room with heat, then early in the morning they kept banging on the door for checkout. I called the front desk and spoke with the general manager. She was upset and yelling at me because the lady who was harassed had told me what happened. Update: after I left this review, I was banned from renting rooms. Just to remind everyone, I’m a Diamond member through Hiltons honors, and I have no reason to lie.

We only stopped because of the storm and weren’t expecting much, but the property is really well kept. The complimentary breakfast was great, too. Sneha at the front desk was friendly and helpful, with great customer service.
