The breakfast area had such a peaceful view, with deer and rabbits outside. My room was very clean, and breakfast was good too. I’ve stayed at this Holiday Inn before, but this time I got an accessible room. It was roomy enough for a wheelchair or scooter, and the bathroom had plenty of grab rails. Its roll bars made it look a bit like a race car inside.

The rooms were clean and the staff friendly, but I called when booking to check that the pool was available. At check-in I found out it was closed. For the same amenities, I could have stayed at the Super 8 for half the price.

I was told at 9:30 pm, just minutes from the hotel, that they had no room for me because they’d overbooked. They sent me to another Holiday Inn 45 minutes away, which wasn’t practical at 10 pm. The manager said it was “on my way home,” but I wasn’t going home. They could have contacted me earlier so I had time to make other arrangements. A reservation apparently doesn’t guarantee you a room here. It seems to be first come, first served, so arriving at check-in time may be your best chance. They canceled my room but marked me as a “no show” and still charged me. I had to call to get my money back. I’ve seen another review describing much the same thing, so it may happen often. Book at your own risk.

Even after drying off, my skin still felt slimy. I get that hard water isn’t great, but trying to rinse the soap off for an hour and still feeling soapy wasn’t any better. The water softener seems way out of control.

The pool looks out over the woods, which is nice. The rooms were clean and it was quiet. A really nice option for an affordable hotel.
