Bartlett Motel

The room was filthy, with dirt everywhere, missing tiles and lightbulbs, and hair and grime in the bed when I arrived. The staff were rude and no help at all. The man at reception even said he didn’t want to honor my reservation. It looked nothing like the photos. Do not stay here or give them your money unless bed bugs sound appealing.

For a motel on PCH, this is probably one of the few affordable ones without roaches. The property is really well maintained. The bed’s a little too soft and the toilet paper is kind of rough, but I can’t think of anything else to complain about. I’d stay again.

I paid $95 for a room yesterday, 10/31, and was given key 104. The walls and floors were dirty, the covers had holes, and the bathroom was a disaster. There was feces on the toilet seat and grime in the shower. Roaches were everywhere, it seemed infested, and I couldn’t stay. The woman at the desk first offered to move me instead of refunding me. I insisted on my money back and said I’d post on Google and call the health inspector. She eventually refunded me. I would never stay here under any circumstances.

It’s quiet despite being on a busy road, and the people running the place were courteous. The sleeping area was reasonably clean, but the bathroom needed more attention. Someone had left a soaking wet bath mat in the shower. The bed was okay and the linens were clean, though painfully cheap. Wi-Fi barely worked, and my room didn’t have a chair or work table. It’ll do for a short visit, but I’m not sure I’d come back.
