Motel 6 Lomita, CA

The towels were always dirty, the sheets smelled strange, the Wi-Fi kept dropping, and the doors only shut if you slammed them. The room keys and locks kept failing too. The owners were impatient, yelled at me, and acted rudely. After I’d stayed several days, they denied and cancelled my reservation, then locked the door in my face at 10 pm without giving a reason. I’d been quiet and clean, with no trouble, and even paid their made-up early check-in fee, which they raised by $10 each day. I was there alone as a woman. It’s in a rough part of town.

The location is good, but our room was dusty, filthy, smelly and disgusting. We worried it could make us sick, so we bought Lysol at Target and disinfected the whole room, especially the bed and bathroom. The bedding had black dirt spots, and we couldn’t bring ourselves to use the towels. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Pay more for a decent night’s sleep and take your business elsewhere.

It was fine for what we paid, as you’d expect from a Motel 6, lol. Clean is all we really need. The location and service were good, and the front desk person was really nice and helpful, though our broken door lock took a while to get fixed. They also charge extra for each person, which seems crazy.

The room smelled awful as soon as I walked in. The sheets were dirty, with blood on them, there was feces on the toilet seat, and the floor was so filthy that a towel used to dab up spilled water turned black. There was mold in the tub, and the towels felt like sandpaper rags. The generic remote barely worked, and I had to stand right in front of the TV and try over and over. It wasn’t a battery issue. Communication at the desk was hard because neither side could understand the other. I would’ve left if I weren’t disabled and exhausted. This was the filthiest, nastiest place I’ve ever been, and the health department needs to inspect and shut it down. Don’t post fake reviews after this, because I’ll report them to Google.
