The Maya

We had breakfast brought right to the room, and the man who took our call was so friendly. It arrived in about five minutes, and he even brought it up himself. The room was clean, and the outdoor space by the water was lovely, with a pool, chairs, and fire pits. Very handy for the cruise port.

The location is still great and convenient, which is why I’ve stayed here again. But the service on this visit was disappointing. Check-in felt cold and dismissive, even though my last stay just over a month ago had been wonderful. I’d called ahead to ask for the same room I enjoyed before. I paid the same rate, but got a room facing an area with large raccoons instead of the “waterfront deluxe” room I expected. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the guest experience.

Having the ceremony and reception right next to each other made the day easy for the couple and their guests. My friends got married at The Maya Hotel, and it was beautiful from beginning to end. The ceremony looked out over the water, the décor came together perfectly, and the setting felt romantic. The food was great, especially the hors d’oeuvres, and the drinks were delicious. The bartenders were fun and professional, and staff stayed attentive all evening. I’ve attended more than one wedding here, and each event has felt organized, elegant, and memorable. As Ms. Long Beach and a local Real Estate professional, I’m always looking around the city for good venues. The Maya Hotel remains one of Long Beach’s standout waterfront wedding spots. We had a lovely night here. The room had a great view, and it was nice to open the slider for some fresh air. Dinner at Fuego was great, and Laura, our wait person, made it feel extra special. We’ll definitely make this our go-to place to stay in Long Beach.
