The price was decent, and the building has character. It’s also a short walk to the beach. When we arrived at 9 pm, our room wasn’t ready, and getting someone on the phone took a while since nobody was on site. They moved us to a large suite, with the amenities we needed, but the old building could use a lot of upkeep, especially the lamps and furniture. The bathroom was decent. I liked showering with the third-floor window open, though I also watched several cops chase down someone acting erratically on the empty morning streets. I suspect that’s common around here. At night, street racing made things really loud, so bring earplugs. The coffee was horrible.

My room was clean, spacious, tidy, and nice to look at. The staff were friendly, and they let me leave my bags and check in a little early. There was plenty to explore nearby. I only stayed one night, but I’d absolutely come back.

There are lots of windows, so the rooms get nice natural light. They’re old apartments, which means high ceilings, kitchens, and plenty of space. It’s a small hotel, probably only about 20 rooms, in a beautiful Art Deco building. You’re close to just about anything you might need, including some fantastic restaurants. The manager was especially helpful. I highly recommend it.

The carpet smelled filthy and musty as soon as I walked into this so-called hotel. Outside noise was bad, the windows are old, and there’s no elevator. Hauling heavy luggage up to the third floor was miserable. Don’t book here. I wouldn’t recommend this place even to my enemies. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else.

Those photos can fool you. This place felt more like an Airbnb than a hotel, and there’s no concierge. I had the worst three-night stay of my life in Room 306. The outside noise was awful, the windows were old, and the stairs and carpet were filthy and smelly. There’s no elevator, so good luck dragging a 50-pound suitcase up to the third floor. They also don’t clean the room unless you’re booked for seven days, which is ridiculous. I learned the hard way. I’d rather pay more for a Hilton or Marriott. Don’t book here.
