Walls Motel Long Beach

The noise was awful. You could hear everything outside through the thin walls and door: a family messing around with motorcycles by our room late at night, then a car alarm going off just after someone arrived. Inside, the sheets looked clean, but the questionable top cover and the lack of any spare blankets left us with a very thin layer on a cool night. And those pillows were the hardest, worst ones I’ve ever seen. I still can’t forget them. The room’s decor, paint, and cleanliness were fine, and the room itself might have been okay otherwise. We also had to leave a $10 deposit for the plastic key. It’s a 2 star motel, so expectations shouldn’t be high, but this was worse than I expected. Probably the worst place we’ve stayed. I can’t recommend it and won’t be back.

The manager was nice, but could be more attentive. The room was decent and the free Wi-Fi was a plus, though our towels looked used and unwashed. I know it’s a 2 star place, but things should still be clean.

About a year and a half ago, my electric bike and phone were stolen from this motel, and I haven’t been back since. There was no phone in the room, and the manager wouldn’t call the police, so I eventually found a phone outside and filed a report myself. The next day I tracked the bike to an OfferUp post and a motel in San Gabriel, possibly connected to a relative of theirs. The person selling it got suspicious and didn’t show up to “sell” it. I had cops waiting around the corner.

I enjoyed staying here. The rooms were clean, the staff really nice, and the motel was decent for the price. My only issue was the TV volume, which only went up to 32. Since I’m hard of hearing, I sometimes had trouble hearing it.
