The afternoon staff member was professional, friendly, and took time to answer my questions. The bartender was also incredibly kind when I explained that a medical condition means I need iced or cold water. There was no bucket or container by the ice machine, so I went downstairs to the bar. He gave me a large pitcher of ice and cups without hesitation. I'm sincerely grateful for his helpfulness. We booked after hearing strong recommendations, and the lobby and hallways made a very nice first impression. But the stay disappointed us. The night shift desk employee had a noticeable attitude and seemed unwilling to help guests. In our room there were no slippers or Bible. I don't stay in hotels much, but my father worked in the industry his whole life and always told me those were standard guest items, usually kept in a drawer. Maybe some people don't care about those details, but their absence added to our disappointment. The bartender and afternoon employee were excellent, but the night worker's attitude and lack of basic accommodations affected the experience.

We had free parking and coffee in the morning, and the room had a balcony with an ocean view. The bedding was comfortable and the rooms somewhat updated, though some bathroom fixtures felt dated and run down. We came back to find a towel across the door and water on the hallway rug, with no explanation or phone call. The one front desk staff member we dealt with was extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming. The resort fee seems hard to justify, especially off season when there's no beach in winter. Is it for the small green pool or the smelly little gym? The price was far too high. Our friends stayed down the street at The Wave for less and rated the service and accommodations 5/5 by comparison. I love Long Branch and Pier Village, but OP isn't up to par, and I won't stay here again.

Overpriced, with outdated systems and no respect or appreciation for customers. This was the worst hotel customer service I've experienced. I never write reviews, but this place was a horror story.

The ocean is beautiful, and the kosher catering from an outside vendor for our son's wedding was very good. The party itself ran smoothly, and the event manager was great when we met him in person. But we had a bumpy time getting there, and Ocean Place was difficult to work with at times. Our son and daughter-in-law got married at Ocean Place in Long Branch NJ in August 2025. The weather mostly cooperated, so they had their ceremony on the beach, and we were glad it worked out. The venue is worn down in places despite charging top dollar without top dollar service. The bathrooms were adequate but need renovation. The venue lobby had cracked tiles and worn furniture, and much of the rest looked shabby on closer inspection. Although the event manager was great face to face, you couldn't reach him by phone and he didn't return emails. On the wedding day, the AC wasn't working in some areas when we arrived, and he was nowhere to be found. This wasn't our first child getting married. It shouldn't have been this difficult. If you're set on the venue, be forewarned.
