Our wedding weekend felt like a real Keys getaway, and Amara Cay Resort in Islamorada was a lovely place to stay. The property was clean and beautiful, the rooms and pool and beach areas were comfortable and well cared for, and the relaxed atmosphere worked well for our guests too. Christopher, their event manager, was thoughtful, quick to respond, and a huge help throughout the planning. He went out of his way to make sure things were handled and that both our stay and our guests' experience went smoothly. We're so glad we picked Amara Cay, and we'd recommend it to anyone visiting Islamorada, especially for a wedding or special event. 💛

The food was incredible, the views were breathtaking, and the staff were amazing. The sister properties are connected by shuttle, so it feels like you get to enjoy resorts stretching for miles along the Keys without worrying about driving. Honestly, it felt like heaven on earth. I can't recommend it enough.

We were there for three days with a pretty sizable group, and they made things easy for all of us. They even arranged dinner at a beautiful, scenic spot on the property. Service was top notch, and Mr. Damien at the bar deserves a shout out for being so knowledgeable, kind, and entertaining. I'd go back in a heartbeat. -Blue Moon

We came here wanting a resort stay where we could relax without having to leave, and I was really disappointed, especially since this place had been recommended. For the money, the value just wasn't there. It's the most expensive hotel on Islamorada, yet the pool and restaurant were both closed. I pictured my two daughters spending the day in the pool, eating chicken tenders, and having a great time. That didn't happen. The room was mediocre at best, and we paid another $440 for it. I could've rented a whole house with a pool for less. We should have done that. After I told them how unhappy we were, they kindly refunded the $59 resort fee. They suggested using the complimentary shuttle to a sister property, but we waited 20 minutes for it, then found that pool was closed for the night. You'd think the Amara Cay staff would have known. We lost another hour of our lives. The only good part was the complimentary lemonade with vodka at the front desk while we checked in.

Ashley at the front desk was wonderful, so kind, professional, and genuinely helpful. I asked about an upgrade, and she checked availability and made one happen. We really appreciated that. Our room was spacious, with two large beds that worked perfectly for traveling with family. The heated pool was a big plus, and breakfast was delicious. My daughters had waffles, while I ordered the croissant Benedict, which was excellent. The outdoor spaces were lovely in the evening, especially the cozy fire pit with comfortable places to sit and unwind. The grounds are well kept, and everything felt calm, safe, and family friendly. There's plenty to do, too: kayaks and bikes, ping pong and cornhole, plus a nice dock and marina. My one small suggestion is to offer smaller bikes for kids, since many families visit with children. The hotel was beautiful from the moment we arrived, and without a doubt it's the best hotel in Islamorada. We'd happily stay again and highly recommend it.
