The woman at the front desk when I checked in yesterday was wonderful, really sweet, helpful, and friendly. This morning I had my dog with me when I went for breakfast. The male desk staff member kept walking between the seating area where he was watching TV and the breakfast area, and my dog got upset. I got him quiet once the man sat down again, but he barked when a few people came out for breakfast. I was doing my best to keep him quiet when the staff member came over and rudely told me, with a nasty attitude, to shut my dog up right then because people were sleeping. I understand that, but there was no reason to be nasty to a paying guest. I’m completely baffled by how I was treated. Next time I’ll save the money and sleep in my car.

The building needs a full restoration, and the breakfast setup needs work too. The roof leaks onto the first few steps of the stairs leading to the upstairs rooms. The bathtub, toilet, and plumbing need updating. The coffee maker looks decades old, and there’s no waffle mix or waffle maker. The kitchen outlets don’t work, so extension cords run across the area to the microwave and rusty toaster.

The breakfast was the one thing I won't forget, and only because it was just cold cereal and bread. The place looks sketchy, especially after dark, and it’s clearly old and has seen a lot of use. But it was very clean and comfortable, despite being so dated.

There were tarantulas outside and crickets both inside and around the property. After a problem getting our booking confirmed at the desk, we should have just left. The room made me uncomfortable right away: leftover food in the fridge, a nasty floor that didn’t look vacuumed, and old toys, socks, and trash under the TV. The sheet cover wasn’t on properly, and underneath it the sheets looked unchanged. There was a stain that looked like blood, as if someone had been murdered there. We didn’t shower, and I slept in my socks and shoes because I was afraid spiders or other creatures would get into my things. We stayed for what passed as “rest,” then left without breakfast because I was afraid it would be fried tarantulas and grasshoppers. This place was unsanitary and needs to be closed down. I wish I could get my money back. The staff person was helpful, and the ice maker for our cooler was nice. If you have small children, look somewhere else. Turn around and don’t look back!
