1111 Wilshire

We’ve moved out after living at 1111 Wilshire for a few years. Some employees really are awesome, but repeated problems made leaving the right choice for us. The Parcel Pending lockers were often mishandled by delivery drivers, so we had to ask office staff to enter an admin code before we could get our packages. Even paying our final bill turned into a hassle, with broken payment links, an unhelpful AI phone agent, and no way to reach a real person. There were also ongoing building issues. Elevators stopped working roughly every quarter, and plumbing problems came up monthly or every other month. Repairs meant the water was shut off all day, usually from 9am to 5pm. The pet area often needed cleaning and smelled strongly of ammonia. Dogs were regularly off-leash on the roof, and waste was often left behind. Our storage locker was broken into twice within a few weeks, but we still had to pay the monthly storage fee. And our car nearly got towed after someone else was assigned our parking spot without anyone telling us.

I’ve been at 1111 Wilshire for about four months, and wanted to wait before reviewing so I could speak from daily experience. It’s been a very positive change after Medici, which was honestly one of my worst apartment experiences. I moved in cautiously with high expectations, but so far there have been no roach issues or major problems, which had been a big concern for me in LA. The building stays clean and seems regularly looked after. The gym is nice and well equipped, the pool area is kept clean, and the maintenance crew is friendly and respectful. Security also feels attentive and professional. At Medici, security often came across as rude, so the kind, respectful person here makes the building feel safer and more comfortable. Management has been excellent. Brendan Davis in particular is professional, responsive, and seems to genuinely care about residents. You don’t feel like just a unit number. The other management staff I’ve dealt with have been helpful, polite, and easy to reach, too. I gave it some time before writing this, and I’ve had a great experience so far with the people and the environment. Would I recommend 1111 Wilshire? Yes, 100%.

One thing to check before choosing a unit is your cellphone signal. I have T mobile, and it’s hard to receive calls or call out from my apartment. If you work remotely and need quiet, I’d suggest a top-floor unit if you want pool-facing sunlight, or a different side of the building. As for the community, it’s very party-friendly, and seems like a nice fit if you love animals. If you’re touring 1111, I definitely recommend Brendan. He’s patient and very nice.

Brendan has made living here a great experience. Whenever anything has come up since I moved in, it’s been handled right away. I’m more than satisfied with the complex, and the apartments are always clean and well maintained.
