Best Western Pasadena Royale Inn & Suites

Thanks to the hotel staff, especially Eric on the overnight shift, who went out of his way to help with an issue he couldn't control and make sure my stay went well. Hugo was working in the morning and helped too. I really appreciated the service.

The room was nice, and both the TV and AC worked. The shower pressure was awful, but the bed was the main problem. It felt like sleeping on a marble slab, or camping on hard dirt. Whoever chose those beds should have to sleep on one for a week. We checked out a day early. We probably won't get a refund, but I'd rather leave than sleep on that rock again.

The only decent part was being close to the venue. We didn't stay in the room, and I believe we should have received a full refund right away. Instead, they said it would take 24 hours. A disappointing, unprofessional experience from beginning to end. We booked after the ACDC concert. During the show, the front desk called to ask when we'd arrive, which felt odd and was something I'd never had a hotel do before. We got there around 11:15 p.m. The speaker at the front window was poorly connected, so it was hard to communicate. Once we finally reached the room, it was clearly uncleaned. Towels were on the floor, the sheets had been slept in, and there was old food in the trash. We called the front desk. The same employee who checked us in came to look, confirmed it hadn't been cleaned, and called his manager to ask what to do. He was laughing on the phone, as if the whole thing were a joke.

The room was clean, though a little dated, and the staff were friendly. It's in a great location and was a good, solid option for our weekend getaway. Good value, and I'd recommend it.
