Embassy Suites by Hilton Los Angeles International Airport North

We had a wonderful holiday stay, and my wife and I both appreciated how kind and helpful everyone was. The room changeover was quick and smooth, breakfast was delicious, and the complimentary drinks were fabulous. Front desk staff were professional with guests, and I’d give five stars all around to everyone, including housekeeping and the cooks. A special thanks to the front desk team: Ms. Monrea, Ms. Jasmine W., Mr. Darren, Ms. Jazmine C., Mr. Frank (security), Ms. Jasmin B., and Mr. Tomas. I’ll return next year for the holidays. Merry Christmas to everyone.

The room never got dark, since there weren’t proper blackout curtains, and that made it hard to sleep. On top of that, the charges were frustrating and poorly explained. I stayed December 26 to 28, booked two rooms for two nights, and had already paid USD 907. At check-in they also asked for a refundable USD 400 deposit and charged CAD 70 for parking. Then at checkout they kept USD 302 from the deposit. When I called to ask why, the hotel brushed it off as “additional charges” that all Los Angeles hotels usually charge. That’s not an acceptable explanation. The booking price wasn’t the final amount, with fees added later that weren’t clearly disclosed upfront. It felt like they charged for everything, parking included. I strongly don’t recommend Embassy Suites by Hilton Los Angeles. If you want transparency, peace of mind, and a decent night’s sleep, stay elsewhere. Very disappointing and frustrating.

The breakfast was just okay, and my usual omelet with everything was sloppily put together. I was also surprised the complimentary cocktails were limited to one per person, with a ticket from the front desk needed to get a drink. I don’t know if that’s local or a new Hilton policy. Parking is outrageously expensive, over $60 a day after taxes, so I’d avoid having a car. I returned mine at the rental facility and walked back. Still, this is a convenient place to stay near LAX before a next-day departure. I’d come back for that reason, but only if I were leaving the next day.

The room and breakfast were fine, and I had no complaints about either. The shampoo and body wash were very good. Service was great, especially from the attentive woman at the front desk and the helpful woman in security. The shuttle is the weak point, there aren’t enough of them and the waits are long. I’ll stay more nights next time.
