Le Bon Hotel Hollywood

The room was a little small, but clean, with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom that felt hotel quality. It’s a decent value if all you need is a basic place to sleep, and it was one of the cheapest hotels I found around Hollywood. Check-in was a slow, clunky process, handled entirely through video calls with outsourced agents at a kiosk, with no staff member there in person. I’m concerned about reports from several people who say their deposits were kept, and I hope I get mine back.

After I checked out and got home, I was charged for a hair dryer they said was missing. The room had been checked and passed inspection at checkout. I never knew there was supposed to be a hair dryer there, and I don’t use one, so I wouldn’t have noticed if it was missing. It feels like they’re trying to make extra money because I didn’t need to pay for parking. The room door didn’t lock. I complained on the first night, but it was never fixed during my four-night stay. I had to take all my stuff with me each day so it wouldn’t be stolen. Be careful and take photos of everything when you check in, so you aren’t accused of taking something that was never there.

I didn’t feel safe staying the night and left Le Bon Hotel the same day. The room and property were unsafe and completely misrepresented, but management refused to refund even one night. This place felt like an unattended building renting rooms, with no staff or security on site. The only help was a remote attendant on a kiosk, apparently in another country, who couldn’t deal with safety, sanitation, or mechanical problems in real time. The room smelled strongly of sewage and bleach, as if something was being used to cover up plumbing problems. The toilet seat was broken and the bathroom felt unsanitary. The so-called queen bed had a queen mattress on a twin box spring, with exposed metal rods underneath that dug into my back. It wasn’t just uncomfortable, it felt dangerous. There was also a poorly mounted TV with exposed wiring, cracked flooring, debris, broken fixtures, and visible damage throughout. Refusing a refund under those conditions was unacceptable and predatory. The photos and descriptions don’t match reality. This property shouldn’t be operating as a hotel in its current state. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

I booked this specifically for an event at Fonda theater, but ended up checking out at 3 am. The room smelled of mildew and mold, and the bathroom wasn’t clean. There’s no parking at the hotel. The lot behind the building cost $30, and that was only for a few hours. It was really odd not having a person there in person to help. I’d rather deal with a real person than some random person over video from another state or country. I’ve heard a few people didn’t get their deposits back, so I’ll be waiting to see about mine. I won’t book here again.
